Pay range: $110.00 – 130.00 p/h inc super
About the role:
As a Senior Network Engineer you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Network Engineer across design, development and management of large a distributed network platform. You will work collaboratively with ICT Operations and the Agency more broadly and be at the forefront of cloud technology and security.
You will act as a level 2/3 escalation point, as well as assist with key decisions on the development of the team and the Agency’s network stack. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical people and have the right attitude towards adopting new technologies and expanding your professional knowledge.
Duties
- Manage the Agency’s network architecture
- Lead the design, build, deployment and support of the Agency’s network solutions
- Develop and manage VLANs, IP addressing, Firewalling and routing for more than 150 sites
- Develop and manage security protocols across physical and wireless networks
- Resolve end user and application issues related to network infrastructure
Required experience/skills
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior network engineer.
- Demonstrated experience working with various network vendors/providers, with project design and deployment experience.
- Demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting agreed work targets and standards
- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems.
- Proven experience producing a range of documentation from simple work instructions to complex network designs.
Desirable experience skills
- Experience working in Government or providing services to Government agency
- Experience with Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki, Cloudflare, AWS network stacks
- Experience with WIFI prediction and device placement
- Experience with CCTV, NVR and Audio streaming services desirable
